Hope

William Adair - Wednesday, June 22, 2011

In the Merrian-Websters Dictionary in my desk drawer the word Hope is listed as a noun. A desire accompanied by expectation of fulfillment. I want to challenge that listing.

How many times in the past few months have you heard someone say” I Hope my business picks up” or “ I hope the economy gets better” or “ I hope I get that big order” Many people have said it but I will echo it here “hope is not a business plan”!

Hope is however just the start. Because we hope for things that means we are normal. We all do it. My thoughts are that Hope is actually a verb. Hope means nothing if it is not followed up with action. I mean think back to your High School Days. “I sure hope she will go on a date with me.” Well, she never will if you don’t act and walk over there and ask her! Hope requires action! Now is not the time to sit back and wait for hope to just happen. Go out, do the work, have fun. Make everyday a hope filled day.
